Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

It seems at this stage that absolutely nobody likes the Office, and never has.

I think the English version is over-rated ( which isn't the same as bad, it's good, but not great). The American version is pleasant.

I'll stick an oar in for Family Guy. I associate it with being in a house of a friend who smokes the whacky backy. It's a program which apparently is funny on weed. I want to go to sleep.

    Seinfield.

The stupid barrage of crappy OTT American comedy we've bombarded with for the past 10 years(not all, but most big block busters)...it's all the fecking same and it reeks of trying way too hard. The Hangover and

    Slapstick.

The stupid, "Woooooo get your wazzers out for the lads!!!" kind of ****e.

    Des ****ing Bishop

Stupid jokes about women making sandwiches and all that stupid, simplistic sexist humour...I don't find it offensive, I find it thick.

Same goes for racist jokes of that^^ ilk.

Jokes. I fecking hate jokes. ALL of them.

    Southpark.

Him being a cock bag is what makes them so funny.

I don't think the American office is remotely amusing. I don't directly compare it to the original because they are completely different styles of comedy, but I absolutely love the UK office and most of what Gervais does. He is hilarious and far from smug or "sneery" in my opinion.

I think the rubberbandits are excruciatingly unfunny in the way only the Irish seem to be able to achieve.

Hardy Bucks to me is agony. In fact any Irish tv where the humour is based on ignorant country folk.

But it's satire. The fakeness IS the joke.

Agree on Zippy though. My boyfriend told me last week that he didn't know what Rainbow is. I'm still disgusted with him!

Agree about the slapstick comedy - I just don't get it.
Also toilet humour - I am not a 5 year old boy, so it just is not funny.
The average 'comedy' movie these days is a mixture of the above, so of course this means they are not even mildly entertaining.

I don't like slapstick, which with the exception of American Dad is what tends to characterise mainstream American comedy.

I hate Des Bishop. So hard to listen to.

I find it hard to watch comedy shows that have preset audience laughter.

I love British comedy, especially the sort of surreal Monty Python stuff.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,030 ✭✭✭✭Chuck Stone

I like a bit of well timed slap-stick but I don't like toilet humour.

How about this for the slap-stick dislikers?

    No?
