    Hello!

I recently moved to Dublin from Italy (I know, I know, why'dya come here then?) for work and we moved into a house in Castleknock. We don't have a phone line, or at least I think we don't, and we need to get broadband, among other reasons because I need for my translation work.

It seems the house we chose is in the virtual no-man's land between the Phoenix Park and the M50. UPC doesn't service us or have any plans to, eircom's NGB isn't available here and by all accounts (read here) we're pretty far away from the Blanchardstown mast that sends out the wireless signal for digiweb/imagine. Vodafone won't even talk to us because we don't have a telephone number, nor a house number (just a name, go figure) on our road.

The way I see it, the only solution I have is to go satellite, even though I'm not out on the Beara peninsula, but rather just 6 klicks from Dublin City Centre!!!!!

We're on meteor broadband to go for the interim, but the connection is shaky and doesn't allow much streaming, downloading, etc. Does anyone have any advice for me on how to proceed? Onwave? Digiweb? Stick with the mobile broadband solution til UPC gets their s&%$t together?

    Anyone?

    Thanks in advance...
