Ciara Conway is a complete bluffer, had personal experience of same, approached her re an issue I had, directed me to ring her assistant as she was far to busy in the Dail!!!! what has she actucally achieved since her election, bar grinning outside Talk Talk:mad:

I Suppose given that she earns a huge salary from her current position that she is not getting childrens allowance, is she also getting FIS?????

Complete salmon socialist, who will end up ruining the Labour party in Waterford, I know that my mates here in the city are savage that Ryanno didnt get in, apparently she went back on pledges not to canvass certain areas etc.

So my two cents worth (thats all i have left after the budget:)) would be if you need a TD go to someone else!

Complete waste of oxygen is our Deputy Conway

The truth of the matter is that the Irish government have no say in the financial matters of this country, they do as they are told by Brussels and carry no respect whatsoever as was proven by the budget leak´s recently.Get used to this as imho is only the start of more to come.

Ms. Conway could show some bottle by following Patrick Nulty's example.

Re Irish Government having no control: they might not have overall control of the headline numbers, but they have some leeway when it comes to where the axe will fall. Thus far, they've made the easy decision of attacking the most vulnerable, least represented groups. I'd like to see what they consider a really hard decision.

Lot of her votes came from the west of the county I think. She got pull with the country folk?
    Hehe....pull...

The only pulling done was on the wool over people's eyes!

In fairness does anyone see the likes of Conway matching up to the likes of Joan Burton, Eamonn Gilmore or Ruairi Quinn in a debate over policy!? They'd eat her for breakfast.

I didn't vote for her, but I spoke to some women who did purely to try and get a woman in. That is their agenda I suppose.

That McNulty chap only resigned to create attention towards himself as an act of self preservation. A futile action in my opinion.

why would someone vote for a woman just because she is a woman???!!
    what a load of sh!t!!
women are not discriminated against when it comes to the their pay-packets etc, so I wouldve thought that Ciara Conway's attitude/policies re taxation and cuts etc, would be more relevant!!
No wonder the country is shagged!!!

Why are you surprised? Don't they actively go for the female vote?

Maire Geoghegan-Quinn was chosen to represent us in the EU Commission as she was a) Fianna Fail and (b) Female. The EU Chief Barroso actively asked states to provide more female commissioners. There were other suitable candidates who could have received the job.

This is gone off topic, I'm all for equality, which means we are all treated equally. I do know several women to voted for Conway based on her gender though.

Some of my friends voted for her because she's female.

judging from Boards the felling would definitly suggest an overwhelming sense of dissatisfaction with Deputy Conway. I for one haven't heard a peep out of her since her election to the Dail. And when I had heard of herself and Coffey getting elected, even though I hadn't voted for em I still was optimistic that they could bring new, modern, innovative and fresh ideas with them for the good of city and county (how wrong I was)

What now? Is this a case of we've made our bed we have to put up with her now? Are there ways that her perceived lack of contribution can be flagged/highlighted so as her seat could come under scrutiny?

How many men didnt vote for her because she was female ;)

By any chance was the protest about useless politicians milking the system and lining their own pockets because if it was im pretty sure they were protesting at her not with her

To be honest I don't understand why people get so worked up about Ciara. Sure she's terrible, but which of our TDs are any good?

3 TDs are rookies, and Deasy is an outcast in his own party. Paudie Coffey has some experience and achieved nothing with that experience.

The only thing going well for our TDs is that Halligan has a Grade A moustache, that competes with Willie O'Dea. He should make use of the tache to get media attention, but would probably prefer to take down Sinn Féin than bring up Waterford.

Our 4 TDS are getting very little done, but tbh even if we had a minister-I am not sure what impact that would have considering we no longer retain our economic sovereignty(perhaps university status at W.I.T).
John Halligan is on RTE radio 1 now suggesting that we don't increase corporation tax but we tax multinationals 2.5% of their profits-Laughable
