Hi, this is a total n00b question...

I need a new motherboard for my Dell 1735. There are a load of 1735 motherboards for sale on ebay, but they all have different model numbers. Is this important? Wouldn't any Dell 1735 motherboard fit into a Dell 1735 case and work without a problem? Or do I have to get a motherboard that is the exact same serial number as the one it's replacing?
