Sweet! What time is it on exactly?

Slater will probably win again I suppose.

    6pm our time.

Slater already has the title so it'll probably be a more open competition (not to rule out the fiend!). The money seems to be on John John Florence, I figure if conditions stay solid a local has a good chance.

Would love to see Bruce Irons win it. He should have got a wildcard entry to Chopes earlier this year...

    Review of day 1.

The video of John John is savage, he'll be facing Slater early also if they both win their next round.

Hopefully they'll get through the comp tonight.

That perfect 10 was savage from John John alright.

The waves look like tough going today.

Yea Florence was unlucky, Slater's getting better with each heat.

Perrow and Medina off to a great start, will be a tight one.

Savage heat! Slater scraped it at the end..

He is the ultimate fiend :D

Great comp through to the end, nice to see Pipe a bit unruly as well, its far from a perfect wave like say, at the chopes comp.

How nice would it be to be surfing in shorts and sunny weather, forecast for this week will put hair on the chest!
