Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Acceptance of Contract - Can you go back?

    Hi all,

I have a job offer on the table with the potential new employer however my current employer may still make an offer to keep me before the close for Christmas.

The question I have now though is if I acceptance the contract with the new employer am I bound to it? So for example if I accept the contract today and go back on it next week is there any implications?

    Thanks for any help!

Legally, there is very little the new employer could do. Technically, they could take some kind of legal action, but I've never heard of this happening.

However, it is still bad form to leave them hanging on, and then pull out at the last minute. They have other possible candidates they can speak to, and you are delaying this. Can you bring things to a head with your current employer? What happens if you go to hand in your notice now?

Thanks SerialComplaint, I accepted the job last week. Bad form is dead right but sometimes you have got to play hard ball don't you?

Depends who you are playing hardball with - playing hardball with your current employer is grand to get a better deal - stringing on another employer is not really on.
