Hopefully we can keep the great run of wins going but I think this will be a tough one for us,any one got any news on Ledly? I haven't heard a thing about his injury all week.

“We’ve one or two knocks,” said Harry. “Jermain has had a bit of a hamstring this week, Ledley took a bang on the knee in training last week and Gareth has had a problem this week. We’ll wait and see how they are.”

Just hope the King is good to go!

Yeah out of those 3 I'd miss King and Bale the most. VDV would love to start this one and if Defoe has any doubt he'll be in there. We'll need our best defence against Stoke and I feel a lot more comfortable about Friedel being in goal than Gomes considering the high balls that will most likely be sent his way.

We've beaten Stoke in their place 2 - 1 the last 2 years (maybe 3) so we have a good recent record there, and I think winning this one would really scare the rest of the PL as it would show that our run hasn't finished yet.

Hopefully we can win and keep things going. No real need to name the team, I think it picks itself, except for who will start up front alongside Adebayor.

outside of the Chelsea/City game I can't see anyone else dropping points this weekend so a win is Vital. If we can get 7 points from the next three games it'll be massive for us.

We wont go there to defend thats for sure. Harry will want us to attack them all night long. As long was we take our chance we will be fine. we better not 'do a liverpool' who played them off the pitch earlier this season and still lost.

Stoke are a great team I really hope we can win and get one over them because a win here is more than a lot of teams will get there this season COYS

Harry always played him in this fixture, he cleared away many of their long throw-ins at the front post area. They will have a serious height advantage on us so I wouldn't be too shocked to see a couple of surprise changes to the line-up just to add height. Kaboul played as a DM there a couple of years ago IIRC and I could see him at RB on Sunday, with Sandro a chance to start CM also. I would hope to see us go with our regular line-up barring injuries and I do think that is what Harry will do but there is a chance he will adjust with their physicality in mind. Either way: Stoke 1-2 Spurs.

I'm surprised to hear that King got a bang on the knee during training,I always thought he didn't train with the rest of the team or take part in the 5 a sides.him and Bale are needed on Sunday so hears hoping both of them will make the game.

United, Liverpool and Arsenal all looking good for wins we really need to win tomorrow now!

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,713 ✭✭✭2nd Row Donkey

At least proper order has resumed with Newcastle. :D

Must win tomorrow and hope Chelsea get something out of Mondays game.

Worst case scenario if Bale does not make it, who do you think will come in?
It could be Pienaar straight swap in or Danny Rose, also could move Modric onto the left and play Sandro/Livermore in CM.

I think this is the kinda of game that we would benifit from having both Sandro and Parker in CM

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,187 ✭✭✭jiltloop

I think Stoke can be a hard team to crack, I know they have physicality so Sandro could be a good addition but I think we'll probably need that creative spark to get and take our chances and Rose might be better to have on the pitch for that reason. It's a tough one.

Ledly didn't travel to the britannia today but no mention of Bale not being there from SSN I'm sure they would of if he hadn't traveled.

Horrible wet and windy day in Stoke which will suit them, constant long balls and awkward throw in's from Delap . Kaboul will have to be on top form as will Gallas.

Etherington normally has a good game against us. Stoke's goal scoring record this season has been poor. Crouch to score and Defoe to bag the winner.

I'm nervous about this game. All our competitors did well, with City & Chelsea still to play, so it would be an awful shame to drop points here. It'll be tough though and Crouch on the other side will be very interesting.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,153 ✭✭✭everdead.ie

Friedel; Walker, Gallas, Kaboul, Assou-Ekotto; Lennon, Modric, Parker, Bale; Van der Vaart; Adebayor

VDV for Defoe the only change

Gomes, Bassong, Corluka, Giovani, Pienaar, Sandro, Defoe.

I'd say Defoe won't be pleased to be on the bench, and he'd have justification as well. I think I'd prefer VDV for this one anyway.

Well if Defoe is an injury worry Harry has every right to say I want to keep you fit.

I am really hoping for 3 points here but to be honest I'd be happy just to keep the unbeaten run going till Chelsea.

This is going to be a tough tough test.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,946 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Phew that was close! What a rubbish start that would've been but for a great save by Friedel!

Was going to tidy the place and have this on in the background, but I'm already sucked in. Beer open, let the games begin. :)

BAE is way too casual on the ball sometimes for my liking.

Stoke are a bloody big team, all over the pitch, this is going to be tough. We're definitely a little rattled and need to settle.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,752 ✭✭✭markesmith

    Sh*te.

Bugger. Can't say we don't deserve it
