Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Odd, I thought they'd want one pay driver to offset having Kimi around.

From what I read on Autosport, it said that with Lotus signing Grosjean, they will hold onto Total sponsorship. So having a French driver onboard helped Lotus to keep the French oil giant on board.

I think Grosjean deserves another crack at the whip after he was thrown in at the deep end in 2009.

Perhaps Senna or Petrov might get a test role at Lotus. Or the 2 teams that start from the bottom of the grid might hire Petrov because of the money he brings.

    Petrov was too inconsistent

I also think that Petrov launching a scathing attack on the team didn't help either.

I think Petrov knew he was on the way out at that stage. That's what the statement sounded like anyway.

I think Senna came in and was at the same sort of level as Petrov, Thought Senna might have got a bit more time.

Yeah I think Bruno can feel pretty hard done by. In an era with no testing he came into the team, effectively as a rookie given his experience with HRT in 2010, and outperformed Petrov. His showing in Spa was terrific but overall he had a solid end to the campaign and did enough to deserve to stay in the team.

As far as Grosjean is concerned he won the GP2 crown but given his vast experience in the class this was the minimum acceptable performance, as long as DAMS could give him a decent car. He has talent but given his experiences with Renault in 09 I was surprised to see the team take him

Grosjean deserves the drive. Hes been brilliant all year in GP2 and really didnt get a fair crack of the whip last time in F1. I reckon it will be Kimi whos under pressure in that team if given equal equipment. Petrov never really did anything at Renault and I was even surprised that Senna got a drive with Renault in the first place but he didnt disgrace himself.

Pity its all coming down to money to see whos getting a drive though.
