Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    *Thread title maybe misleading

    So it's 02:50 on a Friday night/Saturday morning, I am freezing and I gave up smoking on Monday so I would murder for a fag! These patches are making my arm itchy.

    So has anyone in AH gave up smoking before?

    Sorry! I have before. Champix--they're fecking amazing. I would have stayed off them if I hadn't thought I was okay to have a smoke when I was out.

    I used Champix they were good but they gave me unreal headaches so couldn't use them, patches are the best imo. I will never smoke again, €9 me bollix!

    Yeah but if you stay off them for a while you'll be able to taste stuff again. Its worth it!

    I'm a fairly heavy smoker for a number of years now and I have tried a few times to quit but always end up going back on them because I have zero willpower. I constantly have a dry chest and now I can hear a very slight wheeze sometimes.

    I really want to stop because in fairness smoking is poisonous! I watched a video on the effects of smoke on the lungs and brain last night and I swear to god it was horrific.

    Hope you can stay off them OP and don't give in to the feckers.

    Ah, pity. How long were you using them for? The side effects seem to simmer down in a couple of weeks (IME) and most definitely after you stop smoking while taking them.

    €9 is fucking ridiculous though.

    A week, they do work they make the taste of a fag disgusting some how but the constant headaches were too bad. The patches are fine though except for the itch and the weird dreams. I dreamt I was been eaten by a tub of butter one night :rolleyes:

    It's madness, I'm off to the Euro's next year so with all the money I save so I will have more than enough.

    Nicotine patches gave me nightmares and an aching arm. I remember getting pukey from the rush of nicotine when I put a patch on in the morning.

    I must download that Alan Carr (easy way to stop smoking) ebook, I think it has a high success rate on people that finish the book.

    I know 2 guys that read it and it worked on them, both were heavy smokers and tried the patches also so the book might be worth a read I'd say.
