Yeah the ads are targetted to you based on your internet usage and demographic. Galvasean clearly has a subscription to some MILF porn site :)

I can guarantee I wasn't honing in on any 'rich dads' - not looking for a sugar daddy!!! :P Maybe just a pop up I had clicked on accidentally.............. **shifty eyes**

Those dodgy mails may have been a red herring. I think she should seabass their faults though and give them a chance :pac:

Ah well, I've probably scared him off anyway. I love how I still managed to come off like a crazy woman when all I was doing was trying to cut the crap!

I did that last week. Things didn't add up (although they could have if I wasn't the cynical suspicious woman that I am) and I scared the guy off.

Nothing wrong with a bit of cynicism. Maybe he was scared off because he knew you were on to him & wouldn't tolerate crap?! :D

I uncharacteristically asked a girl out on the second night of chatting last night. Figured things were going well and I couldn't be bothered with the usual several weeks/months back and forth so went and asked her out.

She said no but we've exchanged numbers anyway.

I find it hard trying to figure out when the right time to ask someone is.

I think you've all made a mist-hake. This is an online dating thread. Not a school (eh? eh?) for brill-iant fish puns.

This thread is very entertaining today!

I haven't rejoined any online dating sites but on the subject of it being a small world, I was at a party recently and someone I went on an online date with appeared. It turns out he knew friends of my friends. I have to admit I completely avoided him as it wasn't a very enjoyable date. He wasn't obnoxious but was quiet and really really didn't seem to make any effort with conversation which I found rather rude.

I feel your pain, I had a married man explain to me that he really needed a relationship with a girl 20 years his junior because his selfish wife had MS and couldn't satisfy his needs. He only topped that, when he suggested that he was very 'solvent' and we could have a 'mutually beneficial' relationship...

Take him home to meet the folks... 'Mum, Dad, this is X, I'm his bit on the side while his wife's immune system is at home killing her.... but hey, it's ok look at the new shoes I bought with the cash he gives me'

I'm clearly just too fussy :o

Ladies and gentlemen, we have a winner! Close the thread, no-one will ever top this:

“Hi, how are you? Just dropping you a mail to see if you’d be interested in meeting myself and two of my friends for a nightly fun encounter? We are three business, respectful guys, two of us live in Dublin, one of my friends lives in Seattle and leaving on Monday! We are genuine and experienced with er0tic encounters, most notably in Berlin sw1nger and er0tic clubs. We are straight guys looking for an open minded girl to share and be devilish sinful with :) Are u interested?”

What do you have in your profile that attracts these loons? :D

The only strange one I received was from a guy with a lycra fetish asking if I enjoyed being dominated

  • Registered Users Posts: 713 ✭✭✭tatumkelly

Lycra and domination aren't strange :p

Was that mail from someone who said they were in a hotel in D4 by any chance?!

I remember someone who sent me a PM like that from a D4 hotel!

Except I think he was a sailor. :pac:

If you're an average looking male, online dating in this country seems useless. There's 10 guys fro every 1 girl, and 90% of the guys are just looking for an easy ride. Yet, women still want to pick only the best looking of all these guys and once they see he's a sleaze they'll continue to search until they find mr.perfect.

My standards are not high. I've message countless obese women, but even they ignore me! Has anyone any tips for how an average guy can meet a girl online?

Kudos to you for asking her out :) I feel the same way, not sure to ask myself or hope it just naturally comes up in conversation.
