Thread about the deanwood/mcdonalds got me thinking, just remembering some of the hot spots we used to visit. Going back to the 80's and 90's:
Remember Pearls, Tingles, Sgt Peppers, The Garage, The Court, the one that was in the old Bartra House now quattros.?

If you only wanted one cigarette you could go to Corcorans at the top of Convent Hill and buy just the one.

Max nightclub was in the same building as Tingles or The Pulse , now it would be underneath The Broken Jug, I think it was around 1991:cool:

I was at a wedding in Pontoon Hotel recently and I drove out to see the old dance hall where I shifted many a young girleen all those years ago, but I couldn't find it anywhere.. or even the site where it stood??
Which side of the hotel was it if one was coming from Foxford?

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,170 ✭✭✭sundodger5

It was between Pontoon Bridge and Healys. It was demolished years ago even the site is overgrown now. You can probably figure the location as an embankment of soil was piled close to the road to prevent "long term parking" on it.
