Unbelievable how anyone could stoop this low.

If everyone can keep your eyes & ears open.

URGENT NEWSFLASH: SUNDAY 11th December 2011
Heathlawn Animal Sanctuary was broken into last night. 5 of our dogs were stolen, and horrifically some dogs that are just after having serious surgery and due follow up veterinary care. Along with the dogs, they also stole our supply of leads, collars, ransacked the storage rooms, office and shattered windows. Gardai presently there investigating. More details to follow on our facebook page. Such a horrific thing to happen to these poor animals who have already been through so much in their lives. When will this ever end???
Stolen from Heathlawn. All Micro chipped. If you have knowledge to the whereabouts of these dogs, some still need urgent vet care and medication . PLEASE contact Portumna Garda station or any Garda station. PLEASE don't be silent, we need to get these animals back. These animals will be no use to anyone, as sadly they stole the ones that need immediate care.

Here are some pics of the stolen dogs:

The really worrying thing is why anyone would steal dogs that have no financial value.

Id be worried they would use them to blood fighting dogs.

    This is awful!

Where did the dogs originally come from - were they seized by any chance? Picked up stray?

Is the second one a husky? People do sell those dogs, but I too am worried that they will be used somehow in dogfighting :(

    When will this ever end???

Is this an ongoing thing where dogs are liberated from a sanctuary and only making news now?

No, these dogs were undergoing veterinary treatment and some were post op.
Its worth noting that the premises were wrecked and leads/collars stolen.

The scum of the earth that carried out this atrocity didn't do so for the benefit of the sick and injured animals.
These harmless, defenceless, loving little creatures will no doubt be mercilessly torn apart by 'fighting' dogs in an effort to make the 'fighting' dogs more vicious.
The reason they use weakened animals is so that they can't fight back and injure the 'fighting dogs'.
It took a fair amount of surveillance to carry out this raid so locals may have seen vehicles and lowlifes in the area that don't belong there.
The so-called human beings who engage/facilitate/support this savage excuse for sport should be ripped apart themselves.

I believe ordinary decent people working hard for a living would have neither the time nor the inclination to participate in this savagery.
    Go figure!

As a dog owner, this sickens my stomach how these scumbags can do this to defenceless animals. The perpetrators should get castrated with a rusty knife!
