Could anyone please recommend a good reliable electrician in Celbridge to fix a water cistern. I have no hot running water in the house today. I need it fixed urgently.

    what exactly is the problem
    is it immersion
    are tripswitches up
has the overheat tripped on your immersion
    (post 12 identifies it http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2056324283 )
is the immersion switch lighting up
might solve this on the net

Thanks for your reply. I think it has been overheating. I've been meaning to get it fixed for a while. It only worked for 'sink' for ages (enough for shower). It's the boiler in the linen cupboard. There are no lights. Where are the trip switches to be found?

I will check the link you sent.

I have the picture from post 12 open on that link. I see what you mean by the trip switch. I'll go and check if it's up. I may have to wait until tomorrow to press it down if I have to turn off the power. Too dark and cold otherwise.

Meercat, There's no tripswitch on it. It's ancient. Looks like I'm back to square one. I need an electrician.

Thanks. I think it would be safer to call someone who knows what he's doing. I don't want to get electrocuted.

If you need a new immersion element for the cylinder in your hot press you'd be better off getting a plumber as they are more used to changing them. Any local plumber out of the Celbridge directory or http://www.celbridgeonline.ie/ will have no problem doing it. There's even one in your estate advertised on http://www.celbridgeonline.ie/

    The Raven,

I have used Kiwi Plumbing 3 times for various problems over the last few months.
They are fantastic. Quick response, clean work and prompt. Very professional.

You can get Sammy Darragh on 0879081436.

    +1 for Kiwi Plumbing.
Sammy is a great guy, extremely reliable, on time and most of all...HONEST.
Did a complete makeover on my bathroom to full Italian spec / standard and still came in at almost €1000 less than the nearest quote (and this was at the height of the "boom").

    .

    He surely is.
I gave him an extra 20 by mistake and when he noticed, got back out of the van, rang the doorbell and gave it back to me.

Beruthial, does that guy live in the Walled Gardens? is he just one guy or is there a few of them do you know?

Not sure where he lives ChewChew, but it's local enough.
He has a few lads working with him. He seems to have picked a great bunch of lads as his employees.
First time I called was because my electric shower died. I had a new one by that night and no mess in the bathroom.
Their response time really impressed me.

He specialises in bathrooms ...full fit..including plumbing electrics etc etc.....while not the cheapest in the marketplace, he lives on his reputation which is beyond question....he has a core team of specialists that work on these contracts...tilers, painters, plumbers, electricians...you will not go wrong with Sammy IMO::)
