Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm looking to get a laptop for my 11 year-old and looking to spend approx 400 - €420.

He's into games such as minecraft etc and general net surfing Does anyone have any recommendations of any particular models or locations where I can get a good deal. U realise I'd probably be better off if I were to wait for the January sales but it is for a Christmas present and he still believes in Santy!

    Many thanks.

I don't think Minecraft will run well or at all on HD Intel gfx, so you may need to stretch the budget around €500 or more to get a machine with a semi ok GPU, i.e: Nvidia or ATI, you would need to check the system requirements of the games your kid will likely play and if the laptop spec could cope.

    Thanks for that

What should I be looking for in terms of a processor ?

Should I be looking for triple core or will dual core be sufficient ?

Dual Core i3 or eqiv AMD, it all depends really. Check out www.notebookcheck.net for decent reviews and game performance tests. I would reccomend Asus (Not Acer), Toshiba, MSI, Samsung, Dell, Lenovo machines.
