    Hi all,

This bulb came from a nativity scene crib that was bought in the US - it has blown and I can't get a replacement here.

Can anyone here help me to identify the type of bulb so I can buy some replacements on eBay?

On the bottom is written: "120V 7W, GC CHINA GH".

    Thanks in advance.

it was blow quick because US use 120 V mains, in Europe we have 230 V. Tray get the same shape for 230V. It's very similar to bulb for night lamp plug in to the socket, which you can get in most 2 euro shop.

I used a voltage down-converter, so the voltage was fine - it's been running for 6 years now, so didn't blow upon first try.

Yeah sorry - forgot to mention. It just blew because it blew - not because of the voltage issue.

Generally the American screw-bulbs are a different size than Europe (have previous experience with a US Lava Lamp I brought back years ago) - but I need the actual name of the bulb before I can even search for it on eBay!

Looks like an ES (Edison Screw http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edison_screw - AKA 'E27' or 'GLS') nightlight or SES (SmallEdisonScrew) type. These are pretty common in the us, but not always available here where we generally use BC bulbs. Depending on the application a regular screw bulb at 220-240v could be fine (e.g. if the light is only thing needing power and of nothing else works off the mains voltage in your crib) then go higher voltage and dump the transformer.

If that is the case then a nightlight bulb will probably do you fine - http://www.ryness.co.uk/products/7442-7w-ses-nitelite-bulb.aspx

Any good electrical wholesaler should be able to get you one. Note 7W (watt) bulb is low light output and a higher output could cause too much heat.

    ps. Depending where you're located:
