    Hi,

I'd be grateful if anybody could help me out with the following...

I recently lost CH4 HD on my Ariva maybe because it moved to Astra 1N?

Anyway I am unable to tune it in - Astra 1N is not listed as a pre-programmed Satellite.

    Anybody got any ideas?

    Eoin

On one of the menus (installation I think) you should see an option about half way down the loist called TP scan or individual transponder (can't remember exactly).

If you select that then you will find an option called add. When you select that you can type in frequency info and then you should scan. After that you should see the signal bar move up to 70 or 80% and the channel will be found.

Seem to have lost some of my eurobird channels. True movies, drama and one or two more. There gone a while.
    Have they changed frequencies

Should i be picking up both astra and eurobird?

Astra 2A, 2B, 2D, 1N and Eurobird 1 are more or less in the same part of the sky so your dish pick up the signals from them all at the same time.
Check this site for any changes to frequencies. Very recent changes are usually highlighted in red.

    True Movies, etc are on 11307.00 V DVB-S QPSK 27500 2/3

On my ariva I did the new scan for channel4 hd but I'm getting a 'fail'
message when it tries to tune it in?
I'm certain I entered the correct values etc. Its showing a strong signal level for this TP.
    Any ideas?

Was up with The Brother yesterday and was admiring his Ariva - along with his Sony Bravia the quality of the picture on HD was stunning. I thought I had seen excellent picture quality before - but this was almost 3 dimensional!
However he's having the same problem - cannot get Ch4 HD at the new frequency. We tried everything we could find on boards and DSpy but nothing shows up.
The other channels on Astra 1N (5 USa etc) are coming in fine.

Thanks - however we tried this already but no joy. Haven't done the firmware upgrade yet though. Ariva was bought about 6 months ago (from Tony), and, I think, has not been firmware updated since. (it's not mine to mess with!)

    Double check pilot = ON
That seems to be the main blocker to getting this on the Ariva

Still haven't got this to work.
Where is the Pilot = ON option can't see it in the tuning menu.
On my box in the 'Add TP' option I only get three options -frequency, symbol rate, and polarity.

Bought this box a couple of months ago off Tony.
I haven't done a firmware upgrade. Do I need to?
If so, can some someone link me to a 'how to'
    Ta

On the ariva users thread, should I go with your post #47 or a later firmware posted on #170 in the thread?
Is a firmware upgrade stopping me from getting 4HD?
I'd prefer not to upgrade unless I have to.

    Hi dharn,
    Wrong thread for this Q.
However is your new Tv Saorview compatiable
Do you have a tv aerial
A Freesat HD stb would mean no more bills and at the moment offers 5 HD channels BBC HD, BBC One HD, ITV HD, Channel 4 HD and NHK HD, you can also get RTE 2 HD on Saorview. (so 6 HD in total for free)
satellite.ie and freesat.ie are two good shop sites to look at for prices.

Please bring your answer to a new thread.

    Hi Dony.
    The Ferguson Ariva HD Combo
    Press Menu
Go to Installation Press OK button on control
    Select satellite TP setup
    Press Yellow button Add TP
Frequency 11127 (You will have to enter all the following values or scroll side ways.)
    Symbol rate 22000
    Polarity Vertical
    Transmission DVB-S2
    FEC 2/3
    Modulation 8PSK
    Pilot ON (important)

    I hope this helps.
