Anyone know where I might get small squashes i.e. not butternut squash? There are gem and acorn varieties that would be ideal, looking for around 400g per squash.

Farmer's markets would be your best bet or maybe Fallon & Byrne in Dublin.

fallon and byrne definetely stock tiny baby squashes, 400g sounds like full size.. Or maybe you need 400gs of them..anyway try fallon and byrne, I get them there regularly. They look so pretty on the plate.
