Early leaving due to building problems

    Hey,

Currently in the last three months of a twelve month lease.

However we've had to endure repeated instances of mysterious waste products leaking into our kitchen from the apartment above in the last two weeks with a less than satisfactory response from the property managers.

Can anyone advise whether we'd have any legal leverage in terms of retaining our deposit if we leave a month early because of said problems?

We are on the 2nd instance of the problem at the moment and the management company offered nothing in the way of apology or assistance with the clean up and disinfection.

Any advice appreciated, going to have a word with Citizens information later.

I have no idea why you are interacting with the "property managers" (managing agents?) or the "management company". As renters your recourse is through either the landlord or the letting agent.

Next time it happens, get onto the landlord, until they fix it. Or have you done this, and if so, what did he say?
