    I am logged onto my NetGear router and there are internet traffic statistics. Can anyone help me get an understanding of what they mean?

    They show how much data you have downloaded/uploaded/total
    - so far today
    - yesterday
    - so far this week
    - so far this month
    - last month

    Along with average values too
    All in mega bytes

    It is relatively simple, data transferred on a computer network is measured in Bytes, Kilobytes, Megabytes, Gigabytes
    Kilobyte = 1024 Bytes
    Megabyte = 1024 Kbytes
    Gigabyte = 1024 Mbytes
    Broadband is an always on connection, so
    Your router is measuring the data traffic between it and you Internet Service Provider (ISP) from midnight each day.
    From the table, as of 13.09 today you,
    Uploaded 48.83 Mbytes of data (sent to the Internet via your ISP)
    Downloaded 332.58 Mbytes of data (received from the Internet via your ISP)
    Your combined data traffic today, upload plus download = 381.41 Mbytes
    The rest of the table is giving you Total/Average

    Based on last months figure you average download figure was 290.62 Mbytes perday
    Average upload figure was 1,571 Mbytes (1.57 Gbytes) per day
    Giving you a combined total 0f 1,862 Mbytes (1.86 Gbytes) per day.

    If your ISP was employing data caps of say 30 Gbytes per Month you would be is trouble, as last month your total combined traffic was 55.87 Gbytes

    Hope this explains
