They forgot to update the frascati centre in the picture. Like the grass roof, a wild pollinator garden would be great

Unlikely to be grass, just green as an indicator of vegetation of some kind. Sedums or microclover unless they're going to fence the roof boundaries and keep a few sheep up there. :D

Is there going to be more retail space in the expanded centre or will it be offices?

Beaufield Mews in Stillorgan, Dublin's oldest restaurant, is closing. Such a pity!

Was looking up the other contenders and it seems to be the oldest that hasn't moved by nearly 20 years. In an industry where most places are gone by about 7 years, over 70 is some lifespan

Cult barbers on Leopardstown Road appeared to be open today when passing.

Saw that today too but the guy wasnt doing much business on the two occasions I passed. Is €20 for a dry haircut a bit steep?

My barber less than a mile away from Cult charges €10

Early doors for them I suppose. I’ll be checking it out in a few weeks so can judge then.

My barbers is about a mile away and is €27 I think...

Sorry correction €25, I just checked there. But yes for a dry cut.

    Where is it €10?

Do you get a happy ending with that ?

That’s a ridiculous price to pay.

Any local barber that doesn’t pay for a franchise like grafting barber would be much cheaper

We might use the same barber, as I pay €25 for my hair cut too. It used to be €20 until a couple of months ago. The thing that makes it worth while for me (apart from obviously being happy with the actual haircut!) is that you have to book an appointment online with this place, so you there is no waiting around for an hour or two for a haircut

I can't book online but a text to my €10 guy gets me a time slot

Anyway - we're going off thread

    Hopefully Cult Barbers does well

Sugar daddy and coated have opened in frascati at least.

Any news on more stores? A lot of empty units and you would think stores would want to be getting in this side of Christmas.

Is the new unit for Bannon Jewellers open yet in Frascati? I did see it getting restocked by some employees last Saturday.

    House of Fraser

    In Dundrum? Closed?

Taken over by Sports Direct obviously but actually closed their doors?

  • Registered Users Posts: 23,524 ✭✭✭✭ted1

    House of Fraser
    Purple monkey dishwasher.
I think the rest of your sentence got deleted

Not closed, but landlord is closing some of the UK stores, to change the mix of retail.
Sports Direct said in July, HOF was is in terminal decline.

Not really for this thread though as it's not closing, they have already said Dundrum is safe (for now). In the UK some of the larger stores may downsize via reconfiguring stores (maybe closing a floor etc).

i would imagine that the many "influencers" and "bloggers" who frequent Dundrum would be horrified at the thoughts of Sports Direct opening and lowering the tone of the place.

    As opposed to Penneys?

Volpe Nera opening soon at 22 Newton Park, Blackrock. The unit was previously a sushi restaurant.

The ex Etto head chef's venture I think.

Penney’s is like a 5 star hotel compared to sports direct

Dundrum isn’t going to suddenly get the worlds largest Sports Direct. If anything, House of Fraser will downsize, but the Sports Direct group own a number of brands, including Flannels, a high end department store chain.
