Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Weird that only 6 Danny North photos made it - must've been something to do with him leaving.
Weirder still his Vaccines at Glasto one didn't get a nod, consider they've used it in every issue since he took it:

I must hold my hand up and say "music/gig photography" is on a par with wedding photography in my world ;)

That being said, a lot of good stuff is regularily posted on here. This link, with a few small exceptions is light years worse than whats posted on here imo.

I do love the shot of Blood Orange with the tiny penis though :p:p

    p

agree some of the shots (most) are very banal - the nme used to be the bible for good photography back in 70s and early 80s - these are waytoo clean for my taste anyway , wedding photography is a good comparison

there are a few that do standout , including beyonce

Good to see Dan Dennison has a few shots in there - he's an Irish music photog who used to shoot a lot for them here before moving over a few years ago. He's a nice dude. It's not the look I personally prefer for music photography - I like mine gritty and grainy rather than relying on flash - but I do love the crispness and contrast of some of these. Music photography has definitely commercialised in its aesthetic in recent years but I guess that was inevitable with the transition to digital and the likes of Andrew Kendall on staff a few years ago, who seemed to have a huge influence on how the photos looked.

yeah, i know Dan quite well, used to work with him. Lovely dude.
there's a few nice shots, but the majority are of a fairly low standard. Some nice moments captured poorly.

Some great photos and portraits but some whopper bad, bland/boring shots there (Glasvegas I'm looking at you in particular).

Agree with all who mention its great to see Dan get a nod. He's a sound guy, met him this Summer and I know he has more photos far better and more worthy of being included in that batch.
