Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Also, here's an article on Balotelli's craziness in general! From a while ago. Mario Balotelli: Breaking the mould.

What was with the celebration of the 2nd goal?

His body looked awful. Looked like he needed to eat something.

    Seriously?

How come assists are included in a top scorer market?

Is it a tie break or something? It wouldnt be right in other circumstances sure, a guy could score 1 but assist 4 and finish ahead of a guy who scored 4 if that was the case then?

Its only used if a few people are level on goals scored to have an outright winner. If they are level on goals scored and assists I think it comes down to least minutes played

Balotelli's fireworks send fancied Germans out - analysis of last night's game.

It was Badstuber who had lost Balotelli for the first goal. Khedira was one of the very few useful German players last night.

    Nice write-up though.

I agree, I expected to see him ripped but he really didn't look it. It looks like he was and then lost a ton of weight. I agree with samich, he coulda done with a samich :p

Haha from an aesthetics point of view, his chest is disproportionately small(ie. he has a chicken chest) but he's a footballer not a bodybuilder. He's not malnutritioned as some are suggesting, just has a low bodyfat percentage. Like pretty much every professional footballer does.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

He has tensed all his muscles, that is why they look like that. That is not how it looks in relaxed posture.

Me too, 33/1. Needs a goal to win it by himself, will almost definitely be joint winner at worst

Gomez is leading it due to an assist at the minute.
    Is this definitely the case?

According to bet365 it will be a dead heat if two or more finish level.

Not before Buffon, that's for sure!

Iker is younger and has more caps while Buffon is the superior keeper (imo)

Both worthy of threads of course, just too lazy myself to make any of these things :)

Buffon is, statistically, the best keeper of all time.

And feck stats, he just is the best of all time.

His dad's Cousin was Lorenzo Buffon, Milan's greatest ever Keeper (unless you are a Seba Rossi fan), so it's in the blood.

Would Milans best not have been Dida?

    He did.

He stood on the pitch and applauded them as they lifted the trophy, the shook their hands as he walked by them to collect his medal.

Didn't see the rest of the Italian team storming off down the tunnel, or did I miss that?

    He's a winner, he's won 4 League titles and a few Cups and he's only 21/22!

He's not used to losing such a big game, and wanted to go off and have a cry or a moment to himself without 100 camera's in his face. He came back out after his moment alone and shook hands with the rest of the players.

It looked bad at the time, when to coach tried to stop him, but nothing unsporting about what he did. Spain didn't immediately shake hands with all the Italy players, they had their moment celebrating together before going over to them. Whats wrong with Balotelli having his moment before congratulating the Spanish lads.

Hold on a minute there now, Alan Shearer told me he's done nothing in his career so far? Surely he couldn't be wrong?

League titles in two different countries and a champions league winners medal are nothing though, never won anything important :pac:

Redic comments last night from the entirely idiotic BBC team.

Hansen spouting some crap about how he was petulant and cost his team during the game. Utterly untrue!!!

Anyway wondering what people knocking him for storming off think of Andrews getting sent off and then coming back to shake Italian hands??

Surely he's far more petulant than Mario, no - I mean he had at least three days to digest the fact that Ireland were out and it wasn't even a final or anything.

Funny that some of the people having a go at him in here last night, well they were nowhere to be seen during or after the Germany game you can guarantee it. Who'd have thought it heh.
