    That's what I mean. If stuff remains "alternative" longterm, it means there's real difficulty proving it.

    God, the devil and all that is made up to a degree. If we believe in nothing life seems hard to the extent that nothing is positive. Hell is a metaphor for the downs and tragic times we experience and heaven for all the good stuff. Purgatory is that time between life and death. Belief is a great motivator.
