    Thinking of heading down to Achill and staying here over the new year with missus.
    Is it an ok place?

    Its grand, not stayed in it before but live near there. It will be very busy over new years, the function room doubles as a nite club so if you want peice and quiet it might not be the best spot.

    You could try the park inn in Mulranny, it doesn't have a nite club and is in a pretty setting too. Probably a bit pricier though...

    Has pretty much every place on the island listed. If you give them a buzz i'm sure they will recommend a few of the "quieter" or more suitable options for you. Better than hitting and perhaps not enjoying your stay. New years is generally quite busy on the island.

    Ferndale do really nice and well priced accommodation, alot of the best places are most likely booked up by now though unfortunately. Achill tourism will be a able to let you know who has availability im sure.

    a mile back the road from the other hotel and very quiet, no niteclub or anything in it but its not the most modern of hotel. doors close early though.

    the park inn mulranny is a nice spot and its only a 10 min drive from achill.
