I've got a basketball managers game... and a 25% voucher for valve, which I have all of anyway I think. Oh and some tf2 stuff, a hat and a frying pan?

1 Lump of Coal (which I had to earn myself) and a 25% off any Valve game.

    Worst. Christmas. Ever.

    :(

Have the same. I blame Duke Nukem Forever.

I missed it a couple of weeks ago when it was that price.

Same...and I've been checking every day for a deal on it since :(

So logged in later today and all my missing gifts seem to have arrived. Lump of coal, some money off valve titles, and....a dota 2 invite.

Resisting buying Witcher 2. Will wait for it to go on a better sale I think. I've heard it's very good but I think I'll have enough with SWTOR for the next few months to keep me going.

it's 18 euro or so (24 dollars) over on gog.com if the extra fiver is whats stopping you :)

Nah, more husbanding my money this month. Outlayed a lot already and will only buy really cheap stuff or something I really want off Steam at the moment. I want Witcher 2 but I'm not in a big rush to play it.

heh, im having to do the same thing
had to fork out 30 euro on batteries just now for my lavatube, damn shoddy chinese suppliers
i was gona buy tropico 4 this morning, but now.. im not sure, i have 20 euro left.. what if a better deal comes along on a game i want more

everyone says first world problems like they're not serious or something, but this is a hard call to make

Either way its probable that most of the sales will available towards the end again. Tropico 4 is very good btw, I mentioned on release that I wouldn't pay more than 30 euro max, as its basically an expansion for Tropico 3

yeah i kinda saw that from the demo, few new things added but it was very similar

freaking loved tropico 3 though, so with bigger islands and a few new toys.. cant complain overmuch
screw it, ill buy it now
and the dlc, cos i'm that kind of idiot

waiting for better witcher 2 myself, and portal. Have skyrim, cs:go and dota 2 to play anyway.

So far have 3 coals, 25%,50% off valve. and 33% off valve complete pack. meh.

in all fairness Witcher 2 is well worth even full price!

for me its way better then skyrim. ( yes i said it, fudge off fanboys ). Maybe you are not allowed to explore as much as in elder scroll games, but in witcher 2 every single little quest can have consequences, which will bite you in the arse later on! Its very mature and has a briliant sense of humour.

    they're different types of rpgs
witcher isn't as immersive because you're actually playing as geralt in his story, whereas skyrim you are the dragonborn so you can get sucked in more. witcher does win on plot, easily.. but skyrim doesn't really have a plot as such. yeah there's some crap about dragons, but no one gives a rats ass about that

    witcher 1 > Skyrim > Witcher 2

How hard is it to get the Spiral Knights achievement? I'm on very slow internet atm so can you complete it in offline mode? SK says single-player so i'm presuming it can be done that way, otherwise there's no point me wasting the bandwidth.

do the gifts/coal whatnot still work for games after they have been taken off the daily deals page?

i can do the red faction/tropico ones, but not for a few hours

No, you need to play online. The acheivement is done when you compete in an arena against another group of players.

yesterday's achievements are still available to complete for gifts/coal if that's what you mean. I presume it means all the achievements will be available for the sale duration

Scroll down a bit and you'll see yesterday's

Yup, 'tis quite a rather annoying objective, given to compete you need to earn enough in-game money to pay for it, and then you also have to hope that the arena you get is a snowy one...

Opened up Steam and what do i see ? .............. A piece a coal and Portal 2 for me :D

Screw you Arkham City! Here's me thinking I made an even somewhat sensible decision in buying the game at $40 because I already had Arkham Asylum, and you've just dropped to $25 a mere 3 weeks later! FFFFUUUUUU

Oh well, at least it's a fun game, more fun and more legs than a night of drinking anyway...

Nothing that really appeals to me today except maybe Rage at 50% off

Bought both and haven't played them yet, might pick up clear sky..

Defense Grid & DLC for €3.49, glad i waited a while rather than getting it for €7 when the Glados DLC came out :D

hmmm...already have Stalker SOC on Gamersgate. Haven't played it yet, but is Call of Pripyat and Clear Sky worth getting?

Superb value for Stalker - haven't played the 'sequels' but the bundle is surely worth it at that price.

PayDay the Heist for me & monday night combat

    Defense Grid
complete pack is a good deal at €3.50, if you like tower defense games, it's not a spectacular gaming experience but a good time killer

same as above, but with less o's and e's as clear sky is kinda the worst of the three

also both of you remember to get the complete mod's for the games, massive graphical improvements and various bugfixes that the official patches missed.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,924 ✭✭✭✭RolandIRL

I think i'll wait tbh. I don't have a proper rig yet, i'm guessing the mods up the specs needed a good bit so my laptop won't cut it. I'm sure it'll be on sale again for the same price and i definitely won't be playing it before then...college needs priority :pac:

Just got Psychonauts and I'm rather temped to get Monday Night Combat and the Doom package, next...and perhaps the HD Serious Sam games.

Already have Defence Grid. It was enjoyable, so I'll look to the new content. Will see if I can figure out the daily challenge for it, as it has been a while since I played it.

I did the achieve twice and it was always snowy?
And the cost is 200 crowns which can be earned by doing half a quest, which means you'd get enough to do the mission twice.
It took me about half an hour to do.

Defense Grid: The Awakening and all DLC is 3.50 GoGoGo.
    Got Payday too.

If you play it later, share your opinions on it for me.
    I've heard it's L4D2 with bank robbing.

Nollog told me to hold out for the daily sales on some Steam titles that are already on sale. I'm looking to buy the Doom package (which is already on sale), so should I wait if a daily deal should happen?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,924 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

Thx god I am holding myself do far, though there are not many games I want...

I had 29 euro on my o2 card left so I got batman for 24.99,a steal at that price?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,999 ✭✭✭GhostInTheRuins

I'm thinking about getting batman, but what are the controls like on the pc? Do you need a joypad to play it properly?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 22,924 ✭✭✭✭ShadowHearth

I can't believe some people getting proper games in those gifts. I got so far ****y off vouchers for stuff even your mum won't want :(.
