    How was this done?

With my limited knowledge of photography, it looks like a really long shutter speed was used. Were the departure and arrival photoshoped together into 1 image? Otherwise it would need to be a ridiculously long shutter speed and there mustn't have been a breath of wind because the trees and vegetation are crisp.

Quite right, exposure of 25 secs and two photos stacked to show arrival and departure. There was also practically no wind either, so correct again.

Well, one of of my attempts at HDR! Not my strongest of techniques but was quite happy the way this one turned out, although it wasn't a full HDR, just used some HDR toning. Some of those that know what they're doing with it would most probably say it's rubbish. I have no problem with that though.

Not at all, its very well done IMO. Have tried it myself and its not that easy. Kudos... ;)

The buildings almost look like they're CAD or from a really nice looking computer game. The detail in the trees and plants on the right and bottom don't though, I used my browser to crop them out and I think it looks a bit better without them in the shot.

Did you shot it in RAW for the HDR?
