I want to make a website to record my progress through a college project.

I will need to put videos, pictures and text on the site.

How do I go about building one?
Where do I purchase a .com site?
    How expensive is it?

    Thanks for your time.

Try google sites - its free so it'll probably suit you best

If you're only going to be using it to track your progress, you'd be best off using something like Wordpress.com or Tumblr.

I think Digiweb are still doing free non-commercial hosting for students for one year, including domain name.

Set up a blog on wordpress.com or blogger.com - that's ideal for what you want.
