Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

new entrant to milk

    my neighbour is a 23 yr old, has unreal interest in milk, he has completed level 5 certificate last year in agri college but due to his father ill health he is now doing his level 6 home farm placement, anyways he wont have that completed til august, he was wondering to apply for milk quota under new scheme has he to have a certificate in farming(level 5) and a levl 6 or is the level 5 enough to apply. teagasc cant tell him because they dont no. sorry for the rave but if anyone could shed light on this he be v grateful.

    maybe give the local creamery a call , its hard to get into dairy to get a big enough of a size of herd and quota

    he tried the creamary but they not sure, just wondering had anyone else the same quiery as him before and how they faired out

    The detailed rules for the 2011 scheme are attached. See Annex 1 for the acceptable qualifications
    I would imagine that the 2012 scheme will be something similar.
