Hi I am two weeks in my current job, I have been told by management that I am entitled to six hours bank holiday pay over the christmas period as I have to work eight weeks in order to be entitled to bank holiday pay. Does anyone know if this is true?

I have searched the employment act and citizens information and I cannot find anything to validate this.

Can my new employer have their own policies in relation to paying bank holidays or is it a legal requirement?

They don't have to pay you, they can give you time off instead.
