W7 on 2nd hand hard drive?

Hi folks, Ive managed to find the same hard drive as the one took out from wifes laptop. The laptop had vista on it and the drive im getting also had vista on it. I was hoping to install windows 7 OEM onto the 2nd hand drive but Ive been reading you can't install w7 OEM onto a drive that had previous windows on it. Anyone…

Hi folks,

I was hoping to install windows 7 OEM onto the 2nd hand drive but Ive been reading you can't install w7 OEM onto a drive that had previous windows on it. Anyone know anything about this?

Also If I was to install vista on it again with more ram could I use the recovery CD we have here? Or that wont work because there was a different vista it compared to the one I have the CD for?
