Registered this in Kells today. Still waiting for stat code before Irish plates go on...

Its a 1983 Renault 5 Gordini Turbo. Mostly factory standard now except Carb from later GT Turbo

Needs a little tidying but drives great...1980s turbos are great fun :D

time to start opting for ZV plates I think. What a mess this system is and the shame is, some much needed Revenue could be raised by charging people for the plates they actually want.

What price G0RD 1N1 plates Kyote?

    Bit late for that :p

Lucky my three are all 4 digit versions.:D

no it isnt. You can opt for ZV plates for an eligible vehicle if you wish at any time.

You misunderstand Corky, I say it's too late, as all the 4 digit ones have gone.

Sadly, it’s now the case that a 5-digit ZV plate is the lesser of two evils, when compared to 83-MH-15001 or 76-D-120456 or similar :(

So ridiculous! Revenue could have easily exempted pre-1987 vehciels from the new rules. Anything pre-87 with a 'year' or 'ZV' is obviously an import!

...no need for '15000+' or '120000+' plates on such vehicles!!

I really dont know why they havent!? They could have jumped the numbers like the ZVs to give a break in each series....
