I firstly apologise that I have no clue how to link things and show articles that I've read elsewhere.So-I have The Advertiser as a facebook friend. A newsfeed this evening said that the bomb squad came from Dublin today to attend to a device in a dwelling in Clonboo. That's as much information as there was. Does anyone have any facts or defintite information on this? Again I am sorry that I don't have the know how to link..

A near-by resident by the name of Dara Lawful apparently defused the said bomb.

The bomb was a Tsar Bomba.

VIABLE DEVICE MADE SAFE IN CLONBOO

VIABLE DEVICE MADE SAFE IN CLONBOO
A viable device found in the Clonboo area today has now been made safe by bomb disposal experts.

The suspicious device was found by the owner of a house located off the main road just past Cunniffes Pub in the village this morning.

Residents from five houses in the neighbourhood were evacuated and the area was sealed off after Gardai were alerted to the device just after 10 this morning.

The Bomb Disposal Unit were then drafted in from Athlone and have now left the scene, having made the device safe.

The bomb is now being taken to Garda headquarters in the Phoenix Park where it will be examined by a team of forensic specialists.

    :pac: That's brilliant!

My mam is from Clonboo and had a good laugh at that. It was a few doors down from my cousins house. He enjoyed the whole fiasco thoroughly!

Jeez, how do I explain? I don't know the road name!

If you were coming to Clonboo cross from Carrowbraune side, you turn left at the cross and go straight on up that road. It's less than a minute in the car up that road and one of the houses up there. I think it was on the right...
