Bit of a lack of variety there, with only two trees, carrier based versus land based. No sign of bombers/interceptors or the like.

and the US tree trailer to go with it. It has the P39 Airacobra, yet that's not on the release tree.

    I was a P-51, a P-40, and a B-17.

    Why they have no bombers??

    ** I want the Sabre too :D

I'm a bit worried about how this will play. If there's no air to ground interaction, will we just be left with every match being the same dogfight, with nothing changing beyond the cloud cover?

And I'm sure the use of Yak-9T's will piss everyone off.

You know, I've been thinking that since the announcement. Apparently there will be ground targets etc to get as part of winning a round, but I'm highly sceptical how this would pan out.

WoT type gameplay / progression doesn't seem to suit the air - no cover, different terrains, nowhere to hide etc

At least the mapping should be fairly easy - bit of blue here, an oul cloud there lol

havent really played wot for good few weeks.

this would be immense if it was 15 v 15 fighters and the tanks on the ground, so 30 v 30. and the fighters could attack the us tanks aswell. otherwise meh

not going to happen. there will be AI anti air and possibly Ai bombers to escort. also some sort of light bomber / straffer to blow up enemy base.
i can see it becoming boring very quickly

Honestly the biggest question is one of physics, if it is going to be tanks in air (i.e. they behave like a tank that can move in another dimension) or how advanced the controls will be for throttle etc. I got a feeling it risks falling very flat on the ground...

Actually you're wrong - their intention in the long run is to completely integrate all 3 games - Tanks, Boats, and Planes. They want to have all 3 fighting on common battlefields. This could eventually turn it into a very strategic game, but that's a while away.

doubt it. my IS7 will be will have to be buffed a bit to take on a bismark. at least they will have to make it float. i think the integration you are talking about involves clan wars .

"In your clan, if your tanks win a battle for a certain region, you can then place anti-air guns in that region so that when the planes go into battle in that area, they have extra protection. While the games are all stand-alone, there is some cross-over that will help give you an edge from one game to another"
