    Beautiful bit of timber.

    Is it straight quarter sawn from the trunk.

    It looks a bit fancy for that is it quarter sawn from the crotch of a tree or a burl or something it's very nice.

    Definitely quartersawn and I would say it is from the crotch and if not my best guess is it was cut out of a section at or just above the root ball.

    Ye I'd say so it's to unusual to be from the trunk.
