Was overcharged twice in 2 days in Tesco, by 56 euro today and about 10 euro yesterday, Staff are nice they chat away as their scanning but i think sometimes thats when mistakes are made.

I always check my receipts and often find mistakes, Human Nature i suppose, but just in this time of when some of us may be a bit low on our dough! Always check receipts,

Even special offers dont always come off at the end, had the today!

    Always check your Receipts!

    Merry Christmas! yall

We were getting those pots and pans, and she scanned them 4 times instead of the 3 we had bought, so we were like charged for an extra one and she didnt take into account that we had the tokens so she charged us on top of a mistake.

Then we got like rashers 3 euro each or 2 packs for 5 euro, that didnt come off either.

Then yesterday we got a bad of Hunky Dory's 12 pk i think it was and a pack of Christmas Crackers, But she charged us twice for the Hunky Dory's and twice for the Christmas Crackers, and i even forgot to tell her that she over charged us for the christmas table cloth.

I got an appology from one of the managers and then i said to her thats 2 days in a row thats happend and she just said okay im very sorry about that the scanners maybe need to be checked,

The staff are always very nice so i dont want to put any Tesco workers down, i just think sometimes when their scanning and chatting that some mistakes can be made, so always check your receipt.

I was never really one to check this til the missus got me in the habbit of doing it and my jaysus its very often that it happens, i mean they are cleaning up on the amount of mistakes that are made, even if its just 50 cent id always go back.

Have you a link to that? I was once overcharged for a special offer. When I went to customer service they went to the aisle, and brought back the SEL which said the offer had expired the day before. I thought it bad form they didn't just give me the value of the offer.

no sorry no link but the gurlfriends mother always goes to customer service if she gets over charged and end up gettin her value of her shopping refunded, if i get to a laptop later i,ll do bit of trawling, but i do know its illegal for a shop to have goods for sale and no scl displayed, they can be fined for every one

You you do get double the difference:

    http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showpost.php?p=76007073&postcount=16

Its written on the board behind the customer service desk. you should have gotten double the difference as the SEL was still visible.

OP, Which Tesco was it? ( not that it matters, but one store got new till recently.)

Its not me starting off the yapping, when ye have kids they tend to start talking to the kids and yip yapping, i do be just yeah yeah yeah go wan yeah yeah go wan yeah,

I saw an offer on the shelf for pasta with a meat filling the good one, and they had a yellow sticker with the name the weight the brand, and two stickers with two different offers written on them, one with buy one get one free and one with a reduced price so i took the buy one get one free went upto her and she said no its not that, its the product code is wrong and you cant have the offer that was displayed, i was like are you not suppose to give me the offer that you had displayed on the shelf, regardless, you had it displayed like that.

She tore it up and said no, now normally they should be fined for not having prices up or having the wrong prices or displays, so she should have given me the offer that was displayed.

And they did one time give me the full difference or twice the cost of the product when they over charged me, but seriously its like every second big shopping trip theres a mistake in the bill.

i've learned from experience with Tesco that you really need to check the barcode that is printed on the special offer sticker.
The product on the shelf, even though it may have the same description often has a different code

That is soooo stupit when they put different offers on the same special offer end, you wouldn't mind when they are in the pasta section.

I think theyve made a fine art out of trying to confuse people, if you really look at it, they do try and confuse people with some offers and when you get to the til or maybe older people theyre like oh ill just get it this time and say nothing.

Ive seen offers on the "ENDS" end of shelving the same product lets say biscuits, all on special buy one get one free, but one is Choco Flavour and one is original, but the buy one get one free applied to buying 2 of the original or 2 of the same, got to the til and was charged for it.

At the end of the day i think if someone isnt 100 percent sure they just say ah just stick the labels up.

I dont think they give a mokeys if you fill out forms, I remember going to fill out a form in superquinn and being called a bitch by a member of staff! ha!

I am the opposite, I will always comment on a place I want to shop in, other wise I can't be bothered.
