    Want a game tonight like Master of Olympus or Caesar 3 or something.

    Download them but they don't seem to be working :(

    Try GOG aka Good Old Games. Lots of classic titles, DRM free, and will run on Win7.

    Pharaoh, the Egyptian version of Caesar 3, works perfectly on Windows 7.

    you can also always buy a Windows 7 Anytime Upgrade license to bring windows 7 home premium up to Professional, where you have access to a windows XP emulator, allowing you to run your old programs. No license for XP required.

    Don't bother. That's only intended for office applications. Games don't work in XP Mode as there's no GPU in the virtual machine. Learnt that the hard way after shelling out extra for Professional :(
