Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Qualified for Lecturing?

    Hey!

A job for an assistant lecturer has come up in an IT. Going by the application form I am technically qualified for it.

I have a 2.1 degree in the field and more than the 3 years experience required.

In fact I am chartered in my profession, have 6 years experience and have a post graduate diploma in education.

A masters in 'desirable but not a necessity'.

Would I have any chnce of getting this job? I have teaching experience but not lecturing experience.....would this type of post be filled by someone in an acting position or by people doing part time lecturing in the IT?

Would a masters be required unofficialy? Bear in mind it's a construction related course which would probably not have the same amount of people having completed masters......

Also, does age come into an equation like this? It is an 'assistant' role after all?

    Cheers
