Adam can't score from 12 yards but can put it into his own net with a flick from that angle.

We'd be just as effective with Voronin instead of Carroll and Biscan instead of Henderson...how far have we really come?

The Kenny Effect = Fans not booing at half time.

If this was Woy the boo's would be ringing round.

It's simple though. We just haven't the players. Suarez the only threat and maybe the only world class player. Oh and the reason that we wasted money on not good enough players.

    Dalglish out.

not one bit impressed with the first half however if there is a silver lining its that we've been muck at home against lower teams and blackburn have scored in every away game so now with all those usuals taken care of maybe we can pretend their chelsea and anfield is the bridge and we can win

How for both teams? Blackburn would probably be doing much better if the fans got behind the manager their home games have cost them due to the horrific atmosphere anything that might make fans come round would be huge.

Ah Christ, it just gets worse.

How nice would it be to have an Aqua or Raul to call on now. No creativity whatsoever.

I don't mind Henderson he's young and least tries to keep it simple, but you can add Downing to that list. Too obvious for a winger.

True enough, Carroll hasn't had much service. Then again, he had that chance from three yards, we need a striker who can put that away.

Was that goal against run of play?
Didn't see first half, Are we likely to put 4 past them in second half ?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,082 ✭✭✭✭Tusky

Once again, Enrique trying to win the game from left back through sheer will alone. He must be so frustrated at what happens in front of him.

Adam is a total liability. The odd hollywood ball or stand out performance does not paper over the massive cracks in his game. He was a liability against Wigan and missed a peno. He has been wasteful in possession today and has scored an own goal. He will get murdered if we go up against a top team and he doesnt have Lucas beside him. And we have seen so few examples of his supposed set piece prowess.

Downing and Carroll ? Think I've said everything that needs to be said about the pair of them.

Think back to any first half performance at Anfield this season against poor opposition. It's been a carbon copy of that. It's crazy how many of our games have followed exactly the same blue print this season, and Dalglish just doesnt seem to be able to correct it.

Steady on, every player takes time to settle in.
Both have been called upon more than even they would have expected with our current injury scenario.
You rarely see players playing to their potential right off the bat.
They need time, look at Lucas after he had time to settle in.

I have seen the first half and dont share your optimism,

we've had the bulk of possession a couple of decent chances but they were few and far between which is the worry. We look toothless again

The buying British experiment has failed spectacularly. I know it's all part of the 5 year plan etc but I don't even see any potential from any of them!

Henderson and Adam are not good enough to play for Liverpool

    Sorry this is reactionary rubbish.

Adam has been of our players of the season this season. Did you not see his performance against Chelsea?

Always amazed when he plays well that there's not a word about him then when he makes a mistake there are posts like this popping up all the time.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,538 ✭✭✭PiE

Yea, it was 90 degrees against the run of play because all we did was dick it about across the field and out of play.

    Andy Carroll: 16 starts, 11 sub appearances - 5 goals, 0 assists

    Andriy Voronin: 17 starts, 10 sub appearances - 6 goals, 4 assists

Comparing their first 27 appearances, Voronin had a bigger impact than Carroll. And he cost them infinite % less. Just saying.

Ah it was hardly an open goal in fairness, the keeper had it well covered. We should be creating more chances than that it worries me that Kenny actually pursued Downing to the point were he basically asked villa to name there price.

Tbh that was an immense game he had Chelsea, but he's nowhere to been seen in games where I'd expect like today. Isn't passing supposed to be his strong point? It's awful poor and too many hollywood balls.

My God what I'd do for Alonso!

Downing has actually had a decent game for me. If Adam and Henderson could improve on their lacklustre performance, especially their simple passes, I think we'll create chances. Kenny needs to get Carroll playing off the last defender though. Coming to the half way line to get the ball, with his back to goal is a waste of time. Johnson and especially Enrique have looked decent going forward. Suarez has been very wasteful for me - He's taking far too much out of the ball instead of simply just passing and making a run further on. We need someone to take the game by the scruff of the neck - ANyone for Gerrard?

Andriy Voronin was one of the worst players in Liverpool's history playing in a very good Liverpool side.
