Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Dont want to hi-jack other tread , but as all other journals are printing the're best of - here is a small sample of my 2011 in images (from the pit)

I dont't know if it is the hassle , or the constant no's, the constant waiting and rudeness , or maybe just the lack of money , or perhaps just simply wanting to try something new ,all in all not sure if i will be doing much in 2012 - supposed to be doing some video stuff anyhow !

Are they shots you like the most or the biggest names you've shot?

I'd be more interested in the 3 best photos that you enjoyed taking/seeing/working on.

The John Lydon looks like a snap for me really.

The Ash shot has some dynamicism to it.

The Arcade Fire shot is well exposed for a gig shot but incredibly boring.

A bit harsh there Pete I think.

I like 2 and 3 equally. ok, the lighting in 1 could be better. Looks like Baz happened to coincide with someone else's flash.

I don't think its harsh. I've shot gigs. If you coincide with someone elses flash than its a given it will happen, sometimes it works out great, other times it looks like it coincided with someone elses flash. Thats the nature of it. You have to be capable of editing your own images down to the best.

2 has a dramatic pose so it works on that level.

3 is just well exposed with nothing going on.

As gig photos, they don't have a whole lot going on (other than being well exposed). They don't excite, convey anything from the gig (to me at least).

With gig photography nowadays its not overly hard to get ok images from an entry level camera and kit lens because of the exceptional high ISO capability of cameras these days, so for me images like these are looking more generic.

So, no, I don't think I'm being harsh. Its something I have a lot of experience in.

Love the Ash shot. Brilliant picture in my opinion. Love the light hitting his face and the lighting in general.

I can see where Pete is coming from on the 3rd one - action wise its lacking.

    Any more samples thebaz?

What I find harsh is to re-open a 6 month old thread to spout condesdending unprovoked negativity on someone you don't know - Why ??
You are not Cartier Bresson , certainly from what I have seen , so be careful with that term boring -

anyway welcome to that tell thebaz to **** off club (Mongohorn below) - I pretty much have ****ed off from these parts , the odd read and very odd post , which certainly will be rarer -

LOL... it's called critique, it's an opinion. I actually agree with the observations that #1 & #3 are kinda boring and #2 has some energy about it.

Chill out man... watch the blood pressure.

aye well i would agree that one might have been a tad more respectful in making the observation

Pete - a week on I'll appologise again , and on reflection your critique was accurate - I was having a ****e week , personal issues bla bla .. so i had another Joey Barton rant -

anway , didnt want leave here on a sour note , and to answer your question , probably best to view my work in a collections , such as this book , which shows some of the highlights of the past 4 years , that I have covered on the music trail - did it very much on a part time basis , with next to no money or backing , it has being terribly difficult at times , to try and get something unique outside the usual 3 songs in the pit etc. - many other difficuties on the way , anyway this is my take on 4 years of the Irish music scene - appologies again baz (joey B. )

Click preview to get some kind of an idea of what I saw or didn't !
