Maybe I'm just so used to seeing him make big plays and be a deciding factor in games, and this year has been quiet by his standards. I wonder if the new NFL hits policy has imapcted his game somewhat?

I do agree when considering alternatives, candidates seem a bit thin on the ground - Dawkins was having a good year until his neck injury, and I was hearing good things recently about Miami and Yeremiah Bell - can't say I saw a huge amount of them though.

Don't get me wrong, both Freeney and Polamalu are likely to put a crimp in your offensive gameplan, I just thought they had, what was, for them, subpar years.

Honestly the only one who is fit that I would stick ahead of Polamalu is Bell. Seen a lot of him Saturday at the Pats game. In fact everytime the Pats got stopped or did something Bell's name came up by the announcer as stopping the play or doing something and he has been a work horse for Miami but other than him and Polamalu no one really stands out.

If you were to search for highlights on this season you'd find countless clips of him tracking down a RB from the opposite side of the line and stopping him for a loss....or the same with sprinting across the field to break up a pass! He hasn't been extremely flashy but by god he's had some serious plays...the mans a machine and ball hawk...just like Reed and Woodson!

Let me qualify, that I do not watch enough full games from other teams to make a definitive statement about most players. I watch 3 live games a week (if i'm lucky) a lot of the highlights, and the talking heads shows PTI, Around the Horn, and read a lot of web obviously. I churn it all up and come up with what is probably a pretty uninformed opinion at the end of the day!

I just remember Polamalu seemed to be single handedly winning games for a few years. Not so much this year.

Happy Earl Thomas has made it but Kam Chancellor was snubbed. One of the best SSs in the league in his first year starting and was only a fifth round pick.

Surprised Lynch didn't make it after all the media attention he got.

Updated rosters....a one Mr. Brady must be delighted to not have to think of an excuse this year ;)

Kam Chancellor (who should have been there from the beginning) and Brandon Browner have replaced Dashon Goldson and Carlos Rogers.

Seahawks with 3/4 of the NFC secondary. Funny thing is Richard Sherman should have been ahead of Browner.

It'll be interesting to read the in-game tweets

Wouldn't be too bothered with that! The NHL players were supposed to be doing the same last night during the Skills Competition, some of them didn't tweet at all and the others on tweeted a couple of times!

Same as last year so, gave up on the pro bowl 2 years ago, it clashing with the royal rumble kills any remaining interest it would have

Least the Rumble will be good though!

This is ridiculous. The AFC Defensive Line aren't even attempting to rush Rodgers.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,174 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

McCoy didn't even try and run either! Crowd are right to be getting annoyed!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 13,224 ✭✭✭✭SantryRed

This is disgraceful. I don't think I've ever seen it this bad.

Think Fitz just actually beat Revis there, he took a stutter step and think he knew he wasn't going to get him then!

But the Pass Rush is non existent!

Hate this rubbish, it's everything that football's not.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,174 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

Jesus, it's all meant to be a laid back occasion, what do you want them to do...go out and take the heads off each other and risk injury!?

It's an end of season showpiece, not supposed to be a hard fought game that'll end 9-6!

Think Neil Reynolds said it best after Mccoy fumbled the ball.
"If [player] keeps tackling like that he's going to be taken out of this game."
