That chap has to biggest idiot/d!ckhead alive - he just drops the grenade then stands there then he puts resistance to the guy trying to save him - I'd have just ran away if i was the instructor and leave him.

    Yeahhh it's an interesting point.

America spends more per year on milletary than the rest of the world combined or some crazy statistic like that, and have for some time.

I'd say we'd be amazed at the secret sh*t they'd pull out of the bag if there was another world war. Space is probably filled with technology no one has any idea about that could end the war in an instant, with multiple nuke attacks or something! :pac:

Now if that was the Irish army, the instructor would probably go on sick leave for a year and sue the State for hearing damage/loss.

Looks like the top of the grenade came off the stick part.
So do not fear the workmanship of the Chinese army, but fear their quick reaction times.

    Sure they would.

Actually, an Irish Instructor would drag him behind a reinforced concrete wall, as we don't use the trench system like the Chinese, you'd be suprised how nervous people are when handling live grenades for the first time.

However, if that little green bundle of explosive fun decides it doesn't want to explode after its thrown, the instructors has the unenvious task of going out after it and defusing it, and he doesn't get one of them fancy blast suits like the EOD Bomb Disposal.

    Nice video.

No we use Shillelagh's, your initiation is finding a blackthorn and making it yourself. Then we use hurleys for drills like in "The Wind that Shakes the Barley"

No, the State can't afford any possible legal ramifications in case they hurt their ears.

Now our army has a track record of suing us because they hurt their poor ears. That's a fact, not an opinion. God help us if they had serious combat missions, because they'd clean us out altogether.

You obviously know very little about the hearing claims / or past and current deployments so I have no reason to challenge your opinion or derail the thread any further.

    Good day Sir.

Chaps, I'll ask once that you take the ping-pong style bickering elsewhere. Take it to PM, or bring it as a civil discussion to a more relevant forum, or take it behind the bike sheds after school, I'm not fussy, just keep it out of here.
