Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    going to be now, all servers are running and requests are getting through,

    as gpf said try the https

    if there are still issues I will check back in the morning,

    I now have an admin server to catch the 4s keys so should be much key issues.

    Changed to https and worked perfectly ... Which sorted out my plist issue too.

    But now the requests seem to be having issues "saying uh oh there's a problem can you please try again" or "something's wrong can you try again?"

    Is that an issue with the server?

    Wont work for me either ...

    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
      <key>Session Language</key>
      <string>en-US</string>
    </dict>
    </plist>

    My plist is like that aswell...i edit text after the <dict> saved it, added cert, input proxy but no joy..used https

    Was working for me 10 minutes ago when I was at home. On 3G now and it's not working. Don't know if it's a coincidence or if it's not working on 3G. I do have a data ip. Will be home soon and check if it works again on wifi or if it's down again.

    Not working for me either, I'm on the free server.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,127 ✭✭✭kjl

    @jarvis try it now

    @thetechguy, the beta test server is now offline

    One thing that should be noted is that when you are on a server with 25 people the request que can sometimes get a bit messy.

    this is due to the fact that so many people are using it simultaneously, it normally comes back but it there are multiple request it can crash, hence why servers with less people will crash less often.

    I will do my best to keep them all up and running but the place I am working for at the moment does not allow ssh access to outside servers so I can't access the proxy server.

    All working again. I can confirm it does work on 3G. If you have already donated why not donate the difference the get your own dedicated server. This would give a much smoother and consistent service. It's not that much money considering the support we are getting from kjl.

    Got your email, I installed the cert and put the address in Spire, then rebooted but Siri doesn't give me time to say anything if you know what I mean? As soon as it plays the start tone it then plays the end tone.

    When I press the button the "what can I help you with" text arrives, then 2 beeps,then nothing

    When I press again, it tells me can't help me

    is that plist problem?

    it must be, all servers are up and running fine

    Sorted

    went back in to edit file and there was a lot more info

    then saw that extra text was in wrong location

    First up: hats off to kjl.

    Ive been following the thread with interest; and it strikes me as strange how your efforts have accumulated only single figure "thanks" , but almost 300 posts ans 10000 views.

    Fair play to you for your persistence;)

    Can I ask a stupid question?

    Why does Siri need a server to work through? Is it not just another program that, once you've downloaded, works on your phone?

    And what must one do to get it on an iphone 4?

    Thanks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,127 ✭✭✭kjl

    @kraggy

    the siri server that apple runs needs a key from the iPhone to authenticate that it is real. The proxy server copies the key from my iPhone 4s and allows other users to use it.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 6,414 ✭✭✭kraggy

    Ok so it's basically to make sure only those with the 4S can use it?

    But there are ways around that, yeah? i.e. for those of us who only have iphone 4 or earlier.

    This proxy server allows someone with an iPhone 4 to use Siri, it is done by using the keys from my iPhone 4s to access the Siri server.

    To be fair, most of us have said thanks by donating to KJL and using his service and have thanked him in our individual posts.

    Indeed fair play and its great that he did it.

    Thanks Again
