Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Won't be long now till people are naming their kids after porn stars. In fact I wonder how many lads have suggested porn star names for their daughters and their partner is none the wiser where they're pulling the names from.

I had a crush on a girl called Clodagh in college. I think it's a lovely name.

Not terribly gone on Grainne or Aine though.

Isn’t that part of it, though? If you know and like (or better still fancied) someone, doesn’t that influence whether or not you like a name? Or is it just me?

Definitely. There are lots of "normal" names that I dislike because I've come across too many arseholes with those names :pac:

    Willy Johnson.

Forever to be known by his classmates as Little Willy Johnson.

    "Hey Willy, how's your Johnson?"

"Hey Mr Johnson, how's your Willy?"

    "Little Willy or big Johnson?"

    "Little Johnson or Big Willy?"

    The mind boggles.

Should have just called him synonym.

    From some random website....

In Grimes' first tweet since the baby, her first child, was born, she confirmed her son's name, explaining each individual element and what it means to the couple. "X, the unknown variable," she tweeted. "Æ, my elven spelling of Ai (love &/or Artificial intelligence)."

"A-12" is an military airplane reference, Grimes (real name Claire Boucher) explained. The Lockheed A-12 is a now retired reconnaissance aircraft built for the CIA in the 1960s. "No weapons, no defenses, just speed. Great in battle, but non-violent," Grimes tweeted. The aircraft was known as Archangel during development, according to the BBC—and "Archangel" also happens to be Grimes' favorite song, she added.

    God help the poor child!

Just this past weekend I discovered my neighbours have a boy named Ace, and a girl, Lake.

I think Ace is a bit out there as a name and bound to attract bullying when he reaches school age, but Lake is interesting.

No. Lake ,when she comes to that age, will suffer with lads going on about "going for a dip in (the) Lake" etc.
    Awful name.

Good point. Going fishing in Lake, having a skinny dip in Lake, etc.

Makes me think of Lake Bell, which is an awful name really.
