Here's one of the many cringeworthy "quirky" comments it inspired.

I dont know why, but when they sing it, I just feel like lying in the middle of a snow cover field with someone special and watching fireworks, or something along those lines. Its such a splendid song, like the perfect cup of tea on a cold day.

Down through the years there were; Teddyboys, Mods, Punks and Ravers. This pack of softcocks are the coolest bunch of people todays world has to offer. Fck that.

I also felt some bile rising; it's so twee and contrived that it almost made me want to hurt something.
I realise, though, that the fault probably lies with me and that this may well point towards some latent issues i've yet to deal with.

Went out with a girl who had hipster friends, drove me daft with their banal antics and their "cultured" views of today.

They loved the word "random" and thought showing me pictures of one of them standing in a wheelie bin was, like, sooooo cewl and random! The idea of them loving Spongebob Squarepants as adults seemed better than actually liking the cartoon itself.

Then they'd break out the fùckin' kazoos because, like, it's soooooo random for someone to have a kazoo in their pocket for, like, no apparent reason.

............and then the Microsoft / Google are evil, Apple are saviours horseshìte ****-fest would be their common topic.

I used to just sit amongst them wondering how the fùck I got myself into these situations.

Used to be people like that in rocker/metalhead groups I hung around with as a teenager... particularly the whole "random" thing. They used to act as ''crazy'' and ''random'' as possible to get attention. A particular favorite was offering "free hugs" to strangers cause they were just so alternative and weird , yeah?

I guess they must've grown up and ditched the rock thing and got in with the hipsters instead.

But really, in any "subculture" you have a load of people trying to fit in, where others just "are". There's nothing wrong with liking a certain type of music, enjoying art and galleries, sipping some great coffee in 3FE, as long as it's in honesty and not to create some version of what you want people to think you are.
