A 17 year old noticed hardcoded connection details to super meat boy's database, and was able to directly access the database. He talked to them on twitter and email, but felt he was being dismissed. Then he posted on somethingawful criticising them (link above). This led to the database being vandalised.

There is a lot of bullsh!t being talked about this. Apparently Charlie Sommerville is a confused member of anonymous for example. The thread above seems to degenerate into bullsh!t and epeen contests after a bit, and the reddit thread I saw before that seemed pretty indistinguishable to that. Meanwhile the actual parties involved seem to have lost interest in the subject (judging by their twitter activity and the above thread).
