Did the Dublin City Marathon 2 months back. Gotta say I didn't love the training, far prefer to be out on the hills instead of pounding tarred roads. A group of 20 of us did an 11 mile run along the Kerry Way today and, though we were bruised and battered, had one of our number completely submerged when he fell into a flooded stream, and will be washing mud out of gear for some time, all the group (mostly road runners and triathletes) agreed that it was a blast. Must do it more often. Anyone else into this? Can see why mountain runners sneer at road runners worrying about keeping the iPod dry in rain and comparing gait analyses.

There are a lot of people over on A/R/T forum who run the various races around Ireland and Dublin/Wicklow. Check out www.imra.ie for details of most races.

Check out the Athletics forum which has an imra thread and there have been numerous hill running advice threads over the years on the A/R/T forum too. Enjoy.
