Differences?

Is there any difference between a hunting whistle for dogs and a training one? I need a whistle for my dog and have a variable pitch one, long silver thing but not sure if the sound would carry out of it to my dog if she ever escaped. She has escaped twice in the last week making a very " interesting " christmass eve and new years eve. She never has gone far but moves quicker then me through the woods and I feel a whistle would help under the recommendation of a hunter who has to whistle trained dogs To get her to hear me and return home. Any ideas? thanks

No difference, its the pitch that the dog gets used to. I use a whistle that is a 211 1/2.
You will have to start at basics and dont rush things. Any of the lads over on the hunting forum will be more than happy to give you tips and advice on getting your dog working on a whistle.
