Another day another game. This really is a "should win" game. We can't be slipping up against the likes of WB at home are we to finish in the top 4. Not sure what the story is with King but I hope he makes his return tomorrow. I'm also hoping for us go adopt a 4-4-2 formation with Defoe and Ade up top. I'm presuming Parker is out from the last day. I also think Harry should give a game to one of Pienaar or Kranjcar but I can't see him dropping vdV.

    What I'd like to see;

    Friedal

    Walker --- Kaboul --- King --- BAE

    VdV --- Modric --- Sandro --- Bale

    Defoe --- Adebayor

That leaves us very open on the counter br we should have more than enough for them, especially at home.

Lennon is back tomorrow night so he should start.

I think he will rest VDV tomorrow night and go with Ade and JD, also will be good to have Lennon back and attack them with pace from both wings. I reckon we will line up as follows:

    Brad
    Walker
    King
    Kaboul
    BAE
    Lennon
    Sandro
    Modric
    Bale
    Defoe
    Adebayor

    Friedel, Walker,King,Dawson,BAE,Lennon, Sandro, Modric,Krancjar,Defoe, Adebayor.

A few changes but thats what top teams are made of, keep the others on the line if needed.

You would leave Bale out? I think he will be rested in the cup, but maybe you could be right.

no chance Bale will be left out unless he injured , he will be rested for FA Cup saturday anyhow

Friedel Walker King Kaboul BAE Lennon Sandro Modric Bale Defoe Adebayor should be the team , give parker a rest whether injured or not.

I wouldn't rest any players if they're fit. See what happened to Utd when they did the same in a 'should win' game against Blackburn? That can't happen in this game.

I am against VDV on the wing in any game tbh, he doesn't offer any protection or tackling ability leaving the FB's very exposed. If King, Parker, Lennon and Bale are fit, play all of them.

KingdomYid's team is what I'd go with.

VDV will play and on the wing.

Certainly would. Great chance to let him properly recharge his batteries before Everton next week. We should beat west brom without him, they have plenty of first teamers missing remember. Have him on the bench in case of an emergency but don't use him if possible. Lennon and vdv out wide, JD and ade up top and go for it, early goal and we will murder them.

    COYS

HR will play VDV even if he had one leg hanging off.
As pointed out, he offers nothing defensivly and the FB will be exposed which you can get away with when both Sandro and Modric are in MF to make the takes, cover the pitch and protect the back 4 but with Parker out I'd be concerned ..very concerned.

Hopefully Lennon will start and VDV might be deployed someplace else.

No way I'd drop Kaboul for Dawson. He's finally playing well and dropping him as soon as Dawson is available would be terrible for his confidence.

If anyting Dawson should be rotated with King for the next 5-10 games.

No VDeV imo Spurs best player.

Who mentioned dropping him ? When ferguson has left out regulars over the years, have people said, oh look ferguson dropped vidic, I think not !

I’ll take a 1-0 all day long, plenty of teams starting to struggle and some crazy upsets over the weekend. Hopefully that doesn’t happen tonight.

We certainly can’t afford to leave Bale on the bench, if we happen to go up by a few early goals then give the guy a rest. I can't see West Brom being a pushover even with key personal missing.

Sandro should be able to slot right in for West Brom. Hopefully won't trouble us too much.

Statement of intent from Arry. We need to be up by at least 2 going into the last 15/10 minutes, otherwise I think WB could nick a point at least.

Here's the stream I'm on, audio is rubbish but couldn't be bothered looking for another.

There are more streams here for any interested looking for a better one, let me know if ye find one :)

    Sisqo is doing alright

I hate this low camera angle. I don't know why they switched from the higher up one, but this one is crap.

Anyway, good start, WBA playing very deep and hoping to catch us on the break.

Did Defoe powder his head or something?

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,946 ✭✭✭SuprSi

Every freekick VDV has taken recently has gone straight into the wall. And how does a player of Defoe's experience stray so far offside when he can clearly see the line? It baffles me.
