I'm planning a homemade blinder using a pair of SST-90s, but there are two questions I need to address before starting the project.

Just how efficient are these? I know their maximum specs are 3.9V at 9A, which makes for a rather impressive 35.1 watts of input power; how many of these watts actually get turned into light?

first things first is it for your garden or lamping rabbits .if it for your garden then i think its over kiil and a lot of work to connect a motion sensor.u can buy a good security light for 50 euro .im sure that they will become a nusience item soon and there use prohibited like them dam red light pointer things

Maybe you want to blind an intruder or undesirable visitors to your premises .if this is the case go to your local army surplus store . For 40 euro you can buy a hand held torch like an sst that has a high intensity pulse light that renders any enemy partially blind for 25 seconds ang gives u time to run off or hide your favourite fucia .
