Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Ah no bother, you may ask someone else how to do the fade in/out but you have a start now anyway.

Had to make a quick exit, stuff to do back in town, I'll probably see ya cruisin around :)

Looks like it was a great day folks.
Lots of lovely jammers, but that red 525 estate (marlow's?) is a thing of beauty.

Couldn't make the day out, :( It seems like ye had a good day!
Next time ye are meeting at midway drop me a pm, I know the guy who owns the O'briens there and i might be able to arrange some sort of a deal.

Sorta glad i didn't go tho. Some of those cars would have put my alfa to shame:p

    Body Type: VAN

The MPS surprised me pleasantly! I tend to drive all cars like an RX8, hence a fair bit of unnecessary revving :D

I had good fun too - especially since I don't actually know a whole lot about cars :o I love that you see all kinds of machines non meet-related wandering through the car park.

Thanks to the randomer in the lovely RX7 for parking beside me and making me feel like one of the japscrap crew :D I need bigger, bleached hair and heels next time. And lots of purple stickers.

I still feckin' love that S2000.

    €50 worth of petrol well-spent!

I managed to get my Average speed up to 48km/h and even better my fuel consumption down to 11.7l/100km

    Total success!

*chooses not to think about the money spent on petrol driving the 200km* :pac:

While I think of it, somebody mentioned to me yesterday (I think it was Tal) about getting Boards Motors Stickers done up, I enquired about this before and the line from the office was that it wouldn't be ok, if somebody got one and was acting the muppet etc etc

TBH I'd have to agree, look at the name Midnight Club got, even though 90% of the members over there are actually sound

What if there was a system in place to ensure that this didn't happen?

Something like a thread started where you ask for one and have to post a picture of it on your car along with something like having to tick an agreement thing to say that you won't give it to anyone else?

Also each user only gets one. I know there's a lot of holes in the overall idea :(

It's not down to the type of car, it's down to the muppet behind the wheel. Too much work for very little reward imo

I know that but it's kind of a way of making sure that it wasn't given to someone else.

Sure think about it, someone could do up their own sticker or even just print onto a piece of paper and put it in their window.

It's not my call, far from it. It's down to Dav really, I personally would like it and would out one on my car(s) but I do see the drawbacks

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,854 ✭✭✭✭MetzgerMeister

Well how about making it your call Gary?! haha

I do see the drawbacks too but I am of the opinion that each person on the motors forum, from what I can tell, isn't going to act the git.

Then again you can't account for everyone.

I don't see how it could be my call!

If somebody wanted to they could ask Dav, maybe one of the mods? and discuss the pros and cons with him

Would it be possible to get stickers made up that don't relate to or states boards on them but that the users of the motors forum will recognise?

A symbol or something but no text, I guess that might work?

Or an adaptation of the ATWR logo?

What about something small like the ones from bmw-driver?

    189457.jpg

They are small and not too obvious but are nice to have anyway.

PS, please excuse filthy car, its clean right now :)
